The Senator is the First African-American Woman to Run for Vice President
New York, NY, August 11, 2020 - IVYPAC®, a grassroots political action committee (PAC) formed to provide support to sorority members of the PAC’s founders, applauds Vice President Joe Biden’s selection of Senator Kamala Harris.
The PAC, which endorsed Sen. Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, believes former Vice President Joe Biden could not have made a better choice in a running mate. She has the governing experience and integrity to partner with him in restoring our democracy’s moral compass.
Harris is a strong, courageous and impassioned public servant who has a long track record of fighting for American values with swift programmatic and legislative action. Throughout her career, which spans over 30 years, she has worked tirelessly to address the most critical issues of our time including, civil rights, voting rights, criminal justice reform, affordable healthcare, a national minimum wage, pay equity, fair housing, Wall Street corruption, the impact of climate change, and environmental protection.
Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris has the will and capacity to help ensure that a Biden-Harris administration makes bold moves toward the true manifestation of our founding fathers’ declaration, which was that all Americans have, “certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
In April 2018, a group of politically-savvy sorority sisters from New York, Ohio, California, Florida and Illinois banded together to form IVYPAC to help elect their sorority sisters to federal public office.
