IVYPAC® Endorses Dr. Barbara Sharief in her run for the United States House of Representatives in Florida’s 20th Congressional District
The Broward County Commissioner is Competing in the November 2nd Special Election for the Open Seat in Florida's 20th.
New York, NY, October 12, 2021 - IVYPAC® announced its endorsement of Dr. Barbara Sharief who is vying for the United States House of Representatives in Florida’s 20th Congressional District.
Regarded as a fierce advocate for Medicare expansion and lowering prescription drug costs, Sharief has served as a Broward County Commissioner for 11 years and made history as not only Broward County’s first black female mayor; but also as the first black female President of the Florida Association of Counties, where she advocated for all 67 counties in Florida.
In making the endorsement, the PAC noted Sharief's commitment to economic stability, living wages, healthcare access, affordable housing and educational opportunities to break the generational poverty cycle.
If elected, Dr. Sharief will prioritize these issues.
