Kamala Harris, a candidate for the 2020 Democratic Presidential nomination. In January 2019, IVYPAC endorsed Sen. Harris and reaffirmed the endorsement today as the PAC announced that it will support Sen. Harris with a multi-state GOTV push. New York, NY, January 21, 2019 -  IVYPAC, a political action committee (PAC) formed to offer fundraising and grassroots support to sorority members of the PAC’s founders, announced its endorsement of Senator Kamala Harris for President of the United States. “A powerful voice on the Judiciary Committee, the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, the Budget Committee, and the Select Committee on Intelligence in the United States Senate,  Senator Kamala Harris has been a steadfast representative for her constituents. In addition, as a state official, Harris blazed a remarkable trail as a fearless advocate for the people of California,” said Ramona Prioleau, Chair and Co-Founder of IVYPAC. Senator Harris earned her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and is a graduate of Howard University, America’s oldest historically Black university. While at Howard, Senator Harris was initiated into Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.“Senator Harris has a long history of passionately fighting for the needs of everyday Americans and IVYPAC looks forward to supporting the Senator as she barnstorms the United States to bring her messages of economic equality as well as education, criminal justice reform, immigration and healthcare to Americans far and wide,” added Prioleau. In April 2018, a group of politically-savvy sorority sisters from New York, Ohio, California, Florida and Illinois banded together to form IVYPAC to help elect their sorority sisters to federal public office.  The women are all members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
