Tahesha Way was appointed Secretary of State in 2017 by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy , and in 2023 he elevated her to Lt. Governor. As Lt. Governor, Tahesha signed key legislation that expanded mental health services for college students, established business mentorship programs, strengthened tenant protections, and protected New Jerseyans seeking treatment for substance abuse. Tahesha is running to serve New Jersey's 11th Congressional District in the United States Congress.
